Markdown editing. Formatted text, lists, task lists, images, tables, code blocks, and front matter.

Print and export

Print and PDF export

Print through the native dialog, or export the entire document as one continuous PDF page. Tables and code blocks stay together instead of splitting across pages.

Continuous-page PDF export requires macOS 11 or later.

Files and saving

Open a file and start writing

Open a .md file from Finder or run paperloom notes.md in the terminal. No vault setup is required. You can also open a folder as a vault.

  • Edits save automatically to the original Markdown file.
  • External changes are detected and reloaded.
  • A prompt appears if reloading would discard unsaved work.
  • Opening a standalone file does not add app settings or session files to its folder.
